PERT - Florida's Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT)
The PERT is an entry-level placement test required of all degree seeking students in the Florida College System (FCS) according to Florida Statutes, Section 1008.30, Rule 6A-10.0315. This test will determine your initial placement in English, reading and mathematics courses. Exemptions can be found here: Exemptions to Requirements for Taking the PERT.

Prepare for Your PERT Math Exam / ACCUPLACER Advanced Algebra and Functions (AAF) With LOM
- Learn from expert instructors in an interactive, online classroom setting, with both group and individual attention.
- There’s no failing the exam; however, it will impact the courses you’ll take at community college. So, it's important that you study for the test.
- The PERT assessment is meant to determine whether you are ready for college level classes. Ultimately, your score on the test will place you in either college-prep or college-level courses. Consequently, the more seriously you take the test, the more likely you are to prepare appropriately.
- In the end, it would be better to take the proper developmental or prep class and be well-prepared for the college-level class rather than to fail and retake it. Even though taking a prep course would require an extra cost upfront, it could more than pay for itself down the road in terms of time, emotional health, and even further tuition costs.
